Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. SLAM FRANK
Inspired by a viral Twitter thread that asked, “Did Anne Frank ever acknowledge her white privilege?”, Slam Frank imagines what happens when a progressive community theater company decides to transform Anne Frank’s story into an intersectional, multiethnic, genderqueer, Afro-Latin hip-hop musical. The result is one of the most talked-about, argued-about, and laughed-about productions of the season—part satire, part reckoning, all conversation-starter.
Slam Frank delivers sharp, fearless, and side-splitting satire that has become a word-of mouth phenomenon.
Critics have called Slam Frank one of the boldest theatrical experiences of 2025. Former New York Times critic Ben Brantley praised it as “the most important show around,” applauding its fearless theatricality. Zachary Stewart of TheaterMania raved, “If you love the theater and want it to once again be a safe space for dangerous thought, the best thing you can do is buy a ticket to Slam Frank and laugh... I promise, it won’t be difficult!”

THE WHOOPI MONOLOGUES
The summer of 1969.
Pearl Kantrowitz, a Brooklyn mother and housewife, takes the annual trip north to a Catskills bungalow colony just as the world begins to shift beneath her feet. The country is reaching for the moon. A new spirit of freedom is sweeping the nation. And an unexpected encounter leads her to a musical festival happening just around the corner. As the countercultural revolution begins, and music starts to change the world, Pearl awakens to a life beyond the one she’s always known.
Based on the award-winning hit film and directed by Tony Award®-nominee Sheryl Kaller, adapted by original screenwriter Pamela Gray, with music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award®-nominee AnnMarie Milazzo and additional lyrics by Pamela Gray, A Walk on the Moon is the stirring new musical about one woman’s leap into her own future. Set against a blend of pulse-pounding ’60s sounds and modern pop sensibilities, it’s a story that speaks to a moment when the world was alive with seismic change in culture and identity — much like today.
