CAROL OSTROW is an accomplished theatrical producer. Just recently, Carol was on the producing team for the revival of the award winning comedy Forbidden Broadway.She is also very proud of having produced the Anti-Defamation League’s production of the ADL and Broadway: Side by Side Against Hate For 100 Years. She also produced the wonderful, award winning production of a brand new musical, Song of Solomon,in concert form for the historic Actors’ Temple as well as Berlin to Broadway-Transatlantic starring the international singing sensation Adrienne Haan. Prior to that, she produced Jewish-American Princesses of Comedy at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Carol’s other production credits include I Am Anne Frank starring Andrea Marcovicci at Town Hall, Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill at the Triad Theatre, and Scent of the Roses starring Julie Harris at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center. In addition to that, she was the creator and producer of Hot Klezmer at the American Jewish Theatre and was one of the producers of After Play, written by and starring Anne Meara, (winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for best new playwright), as well as the musicals Inside Out, Greetings starring Gregg Edelman, and A Room Of One’s Own starring Eileen Atkins, (winner of the Obie Award for best actress, Drama Desk, Drama League and Lucille Lortell awards for Best Play). She, along with her partner Arthur Cantor produced Beau Jest in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Boston. Carol’s newest venture is producing films, such as Torte Bluma,winner of four major festival awards in 2006. She also runs a group sales organization, providing tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows as well as teaching presentation training to those who wish to learn how to speak publicly.
In addition to being a producer, actress, dancer, and choreographer, Carol is a dedicated volunteer. She has served on the boards and has raised funds for the League of Professional Women in Theatre, The Barrow Group, The Joyce Dutka Foundation for the Arts, and Laniado Hospital in Netanya, Israel. Carol has also served as the Chairperson of the Women’s Division of WIZO children’s fashion show fundraisers for eight years. She was also honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Board for the Women’s Theatre Project and is currently heading the committee to renovate The Actor’s Temple in New York City.
